Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing! Love you all! This week was good, and sadly no crazy stories!
November 11
Today was good! We decided in our weekly district meeting that we would be doing a service project and help a member named Merga. The service project was us moving stuff around in his house; there were lots of logs and metal. We moved them and cleared out a corner of his "complex,” which is a house where there is a courtyard that everyone uses. In addition to this, we also wanted to do a primary program very soon, and we have been working on that with some of the children in our group! Hopefully that happens before the end of the transfer!

Well, ladies and gentlemen, my watch died.... and it was totally my fault (lol) I accidentally left it in night mode for a long time and it drained the battery. Today was an interesting day! As missionaries, we do something called Amharic Connect. This is where we teach each other how to speak Amharic and do role plays. Today it was frustrating. Mostly because learning the language is hard, and it can feel like such a heavy burden at times. But it's ok! And we had some good lessons with some friends, so it evened out my day.

Today was good! It was a little bit of a slower day than normal, which was interesting. President Cowley came down to do interviews with us, which was fun. He comes down every transfer to do interviews with missionaries except for the missionaries in Awassa because the distance is 174 miles. Which makes it a far distance for him to go every transfer. As I have mentioned, this is a new mission, so we are still working on expanding, and much of the country has no missionaries or members. While he was here, he let me know that unless something crazy happens, I will be staying in Adama for the next transfer. Hopefully nothing crazy happens hahahaha! We taught Wese and I’m a little confused about his situation because I thought he was leaving for school. But he's still here.... The teaching keeps going!

I have been out for 3 months. It feels like just yesterday I arrived in Ethiopia, and now i have been here a month! Life is awesome, and things are moving on. English class was good except for the kids don’t listen. I always teach the youth class, so it is hard. BUT! It was good! Overall, a great day!

Today was interesting to say the least. We had our service project where we helped out Merga who is a member! He was giving off weird vibes though and it wasn't as planned as I thought. AND THAT WAS THE GOOD PART OF THE DAY!!! I felt as though I was going to lose my mind. In addition, we had contention with the other companionship that lives in our apartment. However, I will not dive into it. I should stay positive! Today was the first day that I almost called it quits and said I wanted to go home. But I can’t because I must do this and I know I will be blessed for it! It’s just a roadblock.

Today is Sunday, and it was good! Numbers not so much, we didn’t have a lot of people show up for church, and that can be a little frustrating. But it was nice seeing some interested people who did come. Kenbon (I’ve been misspelling his name) came for the 3rd week in a row and pulled us aside and said he really wants to be baptized, which was awesome! We may have to wait for this because he is only 17, and he needs his parents’ permission until he is 18. They are Ethiopian Orthodox and not very excited about his investigating our church. Today was a good day

Nothing crazy today, it was our P-day! We just ate food! I made banana bread, and we are going to go play video games with one of our friends who asked us to come over and play with him. I am looking forward to this upcoming week because it will be my first zone conference!
Thanks for reading! Have fun! Don't be stupid or do anything I wouldn't do. So, I can confidently say, yes, you can go get arrested if needs be, as I have already done that.
Love you all, and I’ll see you next week (via this BLOG)

In addition, in Ethiopia this week, our Mission Leaders, along with Elder and Sister Schofield, represented the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as they attended the handover of the Korke Water Project. This was funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Stirling Foundation, and the Micha Shea Trust. The borehole will provide clean water and solar panels that will serve 13,000 people in this rural area.
