Hello everybody!!!,
I hope you’re all doing well and are staying blessed! This week has been a very boring one but there are some new things hahaha! I'm looking at your emails, and I love every one of them! Mom and Dad, yours made me cry. Here's this week's recap!
Morning has been pretty good! I'm getting into running which I’m kind of starting to like and it is also kind of hard 😅. We have time every day to work out. The other day Elder Christensen was running, and I asked if I could join him. I have been running more with him, and we have had some good discussions as we run together. II have learned that I enjoy running. I am not fast,
and I am not going to be winning any races, but I am enjoying it. I've been reading the book of Mormon and right now I’m in Jacob and it's great!
DAY BY DAY! Each day is getting faster now that I am in a routine. My Amharic is really getting good! I started saying half of my prayer in Amharic! I love the day in day out conversations with everybody!
Highs:
I can say a full prayer in Amharic!
We start language soon, Like in a couple days! The first few weeks in the MTC are strictly gospel learning with very little language training except for personal study. That will change in the next few days. I'm getting used to waking up early again. I am pretty much acclimated to the time change now which is nice. Here is this week’s schedule:
We wake up at 6:30 AM and I get ready by 7 AM.
Breakfast from 7-8 AM.
Personal Study 8-9
Class from 9-12
Lunch 12-1 then we have some down and can get ready to go work out.
Gym/workout time 1-3 This has been nice as it breaks up my day. The work out time will change because they stagger us so that there is room for everyone in the gym during the day. So, my workout time will not always be at this time.
Class from about 3:30- 5
Dinner from 5-6.
Class again from 9-12

I love being a missionary
People are awesome!
My classes are great!
I feel like Amharic is getting really good! We are learning hymns! See below one of the hymns in Amharic.

Lows:
My district leader is kind of interesting, I am realizing that being obedient can bring blessings, but it is difficult for some of the missionaries to follow the rules. I am noticing a difference in obedience that directly correlates from where the missionaries come from. I have tried to follow the rules, especially about getting to bed on time and going to sleep. This seems to be something that is difficult for some of my roommates to do. They will have to figure that out for themselves. Some of the same issues come up with my district and I can see where we come from and our habits and desire to listen to council vary from the countries that we came from. That is all I can say on that topic, but we are mostly figuring it out.
Taylor swift got engaged (That is a high for my sisters, i just had to 😉)
That's it for this week! I love you all and I hope God is protecting all of you

Feel free to reach out! I can always read emails! But I can’t respond till p day which will be on Fridays until like the last two weeks of the MTC then it'll switch to Monday for the last two weeks
to prepare me for the mission field.
This week's video call home.
Here are a few exciting things happening now in my mission in Ethiopia. I thought you might find it interesting to see the good works of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in conjunction with the International Red Cross. The Cowley's wrote "Through generous tithes and offerings of the faithful members of the church, 86 shelters (now new homes) for mudslide victims in the high mountains of the Gofa Region have been built and handed over to these families. A big celebration we were privileged to be a part of yesterday. Along with the Red Cross and the local government a total of 296 new homes have been built. Each home has a good size living area a small room and a kitchen an outdoor toilet and land for planting trees, each family were given multiple apple trees to plant.
President Cowley spoke along with the other donors He said “we do this because we Love God and we Love our Neighbours the 2 great commandments no matter our religion, culture or language we can love and support each other."
