Primary Program
What is up, my beautiful friends and family! I am currently making food, so while I wait, I’ll write an email! This week was pretty chill, so let’s hop straight into it.
Oct 13th
Today was pretty normal! It was chill as in, not much to report. We are not seeing any escalation pertaining to the war, which is good. We know in the back of our minds that evacuation is possible. One of the church members here told us, she had heard that that missionaries would be leaving Ethiopia. However, as for now we are here and besides having to be inside super early, It seems normal. The conflict is far enough from the city that we are not affected. I am praying it stays that way.
Oct 14th
Today we had some lessons with our interested friends, but sadly, some of our baptismal candidates went tefa! Meaning they’re lost. Like, we can’t reach them, or we’ve stopped teaching them because we can’t find them. This is Ethiopia and it is just different here than in the US. So…..we just hope they call us, hahaha.
Then we started exchanges with the Ayat ZLs, and a missionary that is from Ethiopia came home from Ghana after finishing his mission. That was a pretty big deal here as you can imagine because the church is so new here and to have a missionary from here return is well….. It was lit.
Oct 15
Had sports and went finding pretty much the whole day because most of our lessons got canceled. Then we visited our member Yeabsra before ending exchanges. He’s really cool, but I don’t have a photo, lol.
Oct 16th
Had a lesson with one of our members’ sisters, and it was chill! We had Amharic Connect with our member Yonas. He taught us some crazy stuff, hahaha. When my mom asked what was crazy. I explained he taught us bad words. I can’t explain it, lol. It’s just bad words. Needless to say, it won’t do us much good to have learned them.
Then we had our movie night, where we literally just watch a movie at the church. It’s a spiritual movie!
Oct 17th
Today was just a lot of finding, lol. Nothing crazy.
Oct 18th
We had a primary program! It was awesome, and the kids did amazing! I was the piano player (shout-out to Wall for ratting me out) ✊🏿, but it was pretty fun! It was nice to see a primary program in a branch with so many children participating. We had worked really hard on getting it ready, so we felt proud of the success.
Oct 19th
Just cooking! Planning! Cleaning! Then heading to the church for some shenanigans. Low-key hype.
Welp, that’s all! This week wasn’t that crazy! Just normal. But BYU beat Notre Dame, so we’re number 2 now 😎. Go Cougars! 🔵⚪️
