No photos, 1 name, all fame

The reason I used this title is because I was thinking of Christ this morning. Specifically, when he was on the earth I realized there were no photos of him. But everyone knew what he did and the miracles he had performed. Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah and he lives today! I did not take a lot of photos this week, but you all know what I am doing without me having to add pictures. However, my mom reminds me that pictures tell stories, and I will be glad I took them when I am back home and look back reminiscing. So, I will do better next week.

We had a couple appointments today, nothing crazy. HOWEVER! We did have family home tonight and it was good. Pretty unplanned (not me or my comp’s fault) butttttt otherwise it was good! We told the people that came that we are going to try and start an institute class during the week.

Most of our lessons for today were canceled. But Guy was put on date for baptism which was pretty dope. We are going to do some exchanges with one of the other missionary companions. We will see how that goes.

Exchanges were rough.... Not going to lie, but experiences like these help me learn a lot about patience. Exchanges are going to be more common, so I need to get used to them. For those of you who do not know, and exchange is when one set of missionaries’ changes companions with another set of missionaries.

Today was a pretty good day! We went up for a member visit to Wefa where we found the Gobez family. Hopefully they progress 🤞after we had English class (we teach it) In the place I am at now, they do not speak Amharic (Ethiopia’s main language) they speak a tribal language called Oromia. After we were done it started to really rain and so it was time for us to go home.

Today almost all our appointments were canceled.... So, we did A LOT. It was nice. We also started institute and then did more finding. We taught a little online for the Gambella group lesson! We are still trying to keep some sort of a connection with them, even with no missionaries being in the area right now.

Today we had a way better number at church!!! It was really nice! Even around the whole mission numbers were up. It was awesome. President and Sister Cowley came up for church. That was unexpected but a very nice surprise. We had a meeting with them and interviews after church! It was nice. Then we had 3 member visits! President Cowley told us that we need to be careful and not be using car transportation due to the gas situation. In the past we have gotten cabs to go where we need to. However, he doesn’t want us to get stuck somewhere with no ability to get back. This will make visits with district and Zone leaders different.

Today is P-day. I think I will need to catch up on some sleep. Both my companion and I agree on this. We will just be taking it easy today. Perhaps we will go to the store and get a few chores done too. With the temperature changing and the rain we have a fly problem in the apartment, so I am going to tackle that today. Life in Africa is fun.
Please be safe. እወዳችሃለሁ ( I love you all)
