Chill Week

Aug 24
3 min read

Hello everyone and welcome back to Ethiopia (via this email) this week was pretty normal but that’s chill, let's hop into it!

August 18th

In the morning we had a lesson w 3/ JWs and I’ll be honest I was not the politest missionary.  I cannot say it was very productive.  But oh well.  After that we went finding and found tons of people that were interested in hearing our message.  And then we had a member visit!

August 19th

We started the morning with an exchange with the Burayu elders. We have to start exchanges early because of traffic and stuff and just its easier for taxis and getting together.  It was a really awesome exchange, and we had 3 member visits and finding! Finding can be challenging sometimes up there because of the rain.  It can really rain in Burayu and that makes the streets muddy and us soaked. But it’s ok otherwise!

We ended our exchange and had to council with the missionaries in this area because of some problems going on between the companionship. To be honest they are a trio and that alone can be difficult.  In addition, they are balancing two area books. Which me and Elder Lucas have experienced both! Together! So, we gave them our advice, and they seem to all agree which was nice and we will see how it goes moving forward.  This is part of my responsibility to try and help with issues with the missionaries in the zone because Elder Lucas and I are the zone leaders.  Sometimes I feel inadequate, but I am learning.

August 21st

Today we had and awesome member visit with one of our members Seleshi. She was born in Hosanna where I was born. She treats me special because of this and told me that I am her child.  I feel connected to her because of this thing we share in common.  We also Visited Selams family!! They are 🙌 the goats! And we had to get some things fixed at our apartment. So, this caused us to pause for the day. The people who came to fix said they would come back tomorrow.

August 22nd

Pretty chill day ngl, (not gonna lie) just some lessons and looooottts of finding! Today we Finished our friend Degemegn’s lessons and baptismal forms.  We are hoping that she will be baptized next week.

August 23

Pretty normal Sunday, our numbers at church were low.  This was a little bit disappointing, :( but after we did some accounting and then had some down time.  We also met tonight with our Mission leaders, and they challenged all of us to memorize our favorite 7 scriptures.  While on the call President Tandoh rattled off his favorite 20 scriptures from memory.  It was very impressive; I have taken this challenge to heart.

Today is a P-Day! We are going to go to Arat Kilo, one of my old areas and enjoy with some Elders over there. They have an arcade and really cool mall; it is one of the nicest areas of Addis Ababa and part of the project that is being done to modernize Ethiopia. Overall, just going to have a good time with some good company.

Welp that’s it for the week! Like I said pretty average :/ but it’s ok! We will see how this week goes!! Love you all! Don't do anything stupid please…..until I’m home 👀

Love y’all
