Baptism and Transfers

What’s up gang! This was a pretty great week. I had a baptism this week and some other blessings that God has poured onto us! All around it was a pretty good week!
August 4th
Pretty chill day, not going to lie. Today we just had lots of findings and a lesson with our friend Degemeng (who should be baptized here soon).
August 5th
Chill day! Lowkey spent a lot of time at one member’s house which isn’t missionary standard, but it’s one of our favorite members and we don’t know what transfers will bring! We also taught Hiewet. She is 9 years old and lives with her siblings and Grandma. She is going to be baptized at the end of the week, and we have been working with her to make sure she understands the covenants that she will be making.
August 6th
Baller MLC (Mission Leaders Conference! It was super fun and then the transfer board came out the same day! My father (Elder Ayele) is no longer going to be a ZL (Zone Leader) so I will not be seeing him every month, but it’s ok. Surprisingly, me and elder Lucas are staying together and staying in Saris, we tied the record for how long one companionship has been together. (Shootout Elder England and Johnson) we are going to take your record. For MLC we meet with all the leaders in the Mission. Because I am a Zone Leader that means me and Elder Lucas attend with the other Sisters and Elders and President and Sister Tandohs. We learn how to be better leaders and work on plans to help the People of Ethiopia.
August 7th
Today was good! We had some lessons in the morning teaching our friends and then after that we went looking for a lost member and we realized why he wasn’t showing up. Turns out that he has been attending with the Beklobet Branch, which is really close to us 💀💀 i never want to serve there (knock on wood). This happens a lot as people will attend wherever it is geographically convenient.
August 8th
2 member visits and some fire lessons! We also cleaned the church! It was so awesome
August 9th
ጥምቀት (baptism) 🌊 today we had a lot of people show up for church. We had been looking for both old members and some members who had not been coming. We also had several people who received the priesthood. This is an important step as right now I am assigned to just a small group. You cannot become a branch (this word “branch” and “group” indicate the size of the congregation) until there are enough members as well as priesthood holders that can help with leadership and running the branch. We have really been working with this group of members, and this is one reason that we spend so much time with the members of the church. It is important for the growth of Ethiopia that we establish a strong foundation that we can build upon. After church was over, we had a baptism. It was one of our friends Heiwet. She is 9 and her family is all members. They are one of the reasons that this group will soon be a branch. They have a lot of faith and work hard in helping us grow the gospel in this area. The church has an inflatable pool that we use as a font. We fill it up with a garden hose, so the temperature is not very warm. and will help this group to be a branch! She had asked me to perform her baptism. I was honored and very excited as this was my first time actually doing the ordinance and today my Amharic was on point which really helped. She is the youngest member of her family, and you can see below in the pictures her siblings were all there with her grandma who is raising her and her siblings.
August 10th (today)
P-Day-Chill day, cleaned, studied, and just hung out calling friends.
This week was pretty fire and hopefully the next one will be as well! I cross a year this week on Friday which is absolutely crazy! Shout out all the TCS (people in my MTC group) lowkey just grinding, I’m excited to see what this transfer holds and how we can help people.
