The reason I chose this title is because if I say 3 weeks, I’m going to cry 🤣 everything is good here but I’m ready to leave, even if I can’t speak Amharic very well...... just get me out of here hahahah. I had my first bout of mild food poisoning. I think when you are cooking for so many people it can be difficult to make sure that the chicken is cooked thoroughly. As I have said before, we eat chicken and rice for every dinner there is not a lot of variety. If you notice the picture, you will see what a typical meal looks like.

The other thing is I have four roommates, and we all get along just for clarification. However, my companion and I have good hygiene, I am not sure I can say the same for my other two roommates. My room stinks! I am not sure why it smells so bad all the time. I just don’t think that my two roommates from the Ivory Coast have the same hygiene habits as me and my companion who is from Zimbabwe. I was telling my mom that she used to give me a bad time about my room smelling. However, she would die if she walked into my room now. The other thing is the MTC here in Ghana is PACKED! Last week we had 60 missionaries leave and 130 missionaries arrive. I keep thinking it is going to slow down. However, I was told it will be full the entire time I am here. So, there you go, my title of two weeks 6 days makes me feel better.
Here's my day-to-day breakdown!

Today was P-day and it was really nice! The only problem with P-day is that I have so much freaking laundry to do and so does everyone and their mom, so you can imagine how long it takes to get done! Gracious! But besides that, it was really nice to call home and talk with everyone! Dad, I love how you picked up Amharic phrases to start the call it made my day!

Verrrrryyyy good day and it honestly went really fast. We learned more about directions and how to give directions and honestly it wasn't that hard at all. We laughed with our teacher, and I got to tell her my adoption story! It was a fun day.
Larning Amharic. Here is a picture of the board and some of our lessons. Next to it are two hymns in Amharic we have been learning.

Today was good! Good lessons and good vibes all around! I Made my teacher do a stupid challenge of can you turn your head to the left and look over and see your foot. We do stupid things to pass some time when we are on break or need a pressure release. Another thing I have been doing recently is playing basketball. I am one of the shortest people in the district, so it is a big deal when I score, and I managed to score some points! And the center was a big dude at least a foot taller than me. I’ll take it!
Here is the silly challenge with our teacher.

Sunday- Today was a good day and a good chance to talk with a lot of people! Played some more uno before some boys left and dove into proverbs this week! I love my Lord and Savior, and I can’t wait to get into the field and preach in አማረኛ!
I love you all so much!

Well, there's usually one day that sucks out of the week and that day is today: nothing crazy to report I’m just so freaking done with this place! I'm ready for something different. It is so hard to be 9 weeks in one place never leaving and being in class from morning to evening. I will be so grateful to leave and go to Ethiopia. I have three teachers that trade off. They are all from Ghana but served missions in Ethiopia and can speak Amharic. One of them was called right as the civil war began and ended up doing part of his mission in Ghana until it was safe to return. One of my teachers has been teaching for over three years and I will nicely say that he and I do not see eye to eye, and I struggle with not allowing him to make me mad. It is something that I must work on. I went and played b-ball to take out my frustrations.

We had our phones taken away, the entire district. I think it was a stupid reason, one of our teachers was mad that we were late coming back from our break when another teacher said to go somewhere else, everyone got confused, and he was mad, so he took them, and we went an entire day without them. Not that we use them for much. HAHAHAHA. It was just annoying. Today we all got them back. We are all starting to go stir crazy being here so long. But overall, today is a good day. I took a video of it raining here. It rains a lot and when it does if you are in the courtyard, you can see how the construction was made to pour off the roof like a waterfall. I think I take a video of it every week. I have another video to show again.

Nothing interesting today hahahaha it was pretty boring 🤣 I have been working very hard at my Amharic and learning phrases. I am sure that when I get to Ethiopia my knowledge will last about 3 minutes. But I can pray in Amharic and help with the discussion. I filmed my companion and I having a session with one of the teachers. I think a video is better at showing this than me trying to explain. I have been working hard at this and not taking any shortcuts. I won’t lie; it is difficult to learn.
Spiritual thought:
Repentance is not just for big things but for the tiny little things that may need repenting for. Even if you don’t think it is worth repenting of. It can hold you back and become part of your thoughts. I have been working on repentance everyday even though nothing happened just to feel clean and activate Christ's atonement.
I'll see you all next week!
