What’s up everyone?

This week was not that exciting! As I mentioned last week, I moved areas.  The interesting thing about this is that usually you do this alone and get assigned a new companion.  However, both Elder Lucas and I went together.  Once we got to our new area, we switched companions with the other set of Elders in our apartment for a week so we could be shown our new area and get the lay of the land.  Our Mission President wanted us to switch for the whole week. It was weird but not a lot happened because the companion that I was supposed to be working with this week was sick most of the week.   Let’s hop into the week.

Today we woke up and the other Elders in our apartment were planning on showing us our new area.  This is the place where me and Elder Lucas should spend most of our time. The church is going to be renting a new building in a place called Bole Bobula.   This is the area that we have been assigned to. It is a nice area in the capital city with a lot of new construction going on.  We have decided to concentrate our efforts and time in this area and only leave it if we need to go do member visits or anything else related to our church congregation.  I am realizing that me and Elder Lucas have got a lot of work to do

My Comp was sick, so I just studied.

My View outside my new apartment. Our living situation is very nice as there is really no middle ground in Ethiopia. Our new apartment has floor to ceiling windows in the high-rise we live in.

We had some lessons and member visits, one of our members is a very sweet older lady.  We went to see her.  Her name is Hannah and she was so sweet.  We spent a lot of time just “finding” or walking around talking to a lot of different people.  We also had some lessons.

Today was a lot of finding, cleaning and getting ready for church on Sunday! We met Eith the group leader (like the bishop) to make sure things will run smoothly, small tension between companion ships.  Not me and Elder Lucas but with the two other Elders that live with us in the apartment.  The work ethic is not the same, other than that I am not gonna elaborate, think happy thoughts 😁

Today was a pretty good church!! This group is the smallest group I've been in! There were many missionaries because we had both not only President and Sister Cowley but also our New Mission Leaders who arrived from Ghana this week.  The Tandoh’s!  It was very nice to see them and get to meet them. President Tandoh gave a really powerful story of how he helped turn a refugee came into a full Stake in a small part of Ghana that he was living in at the time.  It gave me hope for Ethiopia, he’s going to help in a lot of ways. We had a member visit after church and it was nice, hung out with a family named the Silesh’s and her family, she's the sweetest lady and an amazing Mom.

It is tradition in our mission as missionaries complete their mission to be given this Ethiopian scarf with our names in English and Amharic. The Cowley's were given their scarves this week as they prepared to return to New Zealand after serving for three years in Ethiopia.

Today is good! P-Day!   Just hanging out, going to go get a haircut and a really good burger! I had this week; I’m going to enjoy today and the burger! 😋. And that’s about it.

I leave you today with my testimony:

My Brothers and Sisters the divinity of God and his son Jesus Christ cannot be ignored, as we go to church every week and receive the blessings of the sacrament, it is one of the most amazing things in the world. This is the most true church in the world! And I know because I've read, asked God in my heart to show me and I can say without a doubt as we partake of the sacrament, we get to repent every week and its one of the biggest blessings God gave us.

I say this in the sacred name of Jesus's Christ.

Amen

- Elder Frasier
