Gambella Week One
Polygamy is very common in Gambella. Many people here have more than one wife. It is culturally accepted in Gambella. I did not see this in the capital, and I believe it is mostly a tribal custom that has been practiced for years. I have seen a lot of things I did not see in the capital and being in Gambella is an entirely different experience. Just when I get comfortable in one place, it changes. Emergency Transfer #2
I want to start this email with a disclaimer that I am fine. Nothing bad has happened to me. But I was emergency transferred to Gambela (On the South Sudan Border) because I was replacing an Elder that was having some issues. More about this below. Let’s hop into the week.
