The reason I used this title is because I was thinking of Christ this morning. Specifically, when he was on the earth I realized there were no photos of him. From Hot to Cold and LONG gas lines

Gooooooooooood morning, afternoon and evening everyone! Hope you are all amazing! This week was crazy. Long story short we are out of Gambela, let me tell you about it... April 6th Today was good! Last full day in Gambela. It was also technically P-day. We had some of our amazing friends come over and we taught them a little bit before we left. Emergency Transfer Number Three!....Yes Again!

Ok ok ok! Don't worry, y’all, my nose isn't broken. The reason we are being emergency transferred AGAIN out of Gambela is because of the war in Iran. The embassy let the Mission President know that all the missionaries needed to be close to the capital in case we needed to evacuate quickly. We were in Gambela, which is a 1.5-hour plane ride. The first members in Ethiopia were expatriates attached to embassies who held Church meetings in homes in Addis Ababa. In March 1985 Church Apostle Elder M. Russell Ballard and Elder Glenn L. Pace of the Seventy visited Addis Ababa with Church relief supplies. The Church donated some $2.8 million for famine relief and irrigation development in Ethiopia and neighboring countries, such as Sudan.

The Kenya Nairobi Mission, which includes Ethiopia, was created in 1991, and the first official Church meeting was held in Addis Ababa in August 1992. In 1993 the Church was legally registered and the first missionary couple arrived. In February 1993 the first missionaries arrived, Elder Eugene and Sister Ruth Hilton. The Church was legally registered on 16 September 1993.

The Addis Ababa Branch (a small congregation) was created in January 1994 and was presided over by Girma Denisa. He was the first Ethiopian to serve the Church as a full-time missionary.

In 2020 The first official mission was established. However, due to Covid and then civil war. The mission is still new.
